NeverWalkAlone wants to help and empower people to feel safe in any situation. The foundation works to prevent sexual violence from happening, and in the event violence occurs collect evidence against the perpetrators.
Sexual violence is a serious public health problem that affects millions of women and men. In the United States alone, one in four women is sexually assaulted and one in five women have been raped or have experienced an attempted raped. Three out of four rapes are committed by someone known to the victim.
Sexual violence can have long-term effects on victims including post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety. Many victims no longer feel safe in “ordinary” situations. NeverWalkAlone supports and funds resources, tools and nonprofits to help survivors cope with long-term effects.
The motivation for the father and daughter founders of NeverWalkAlone has from the beginning been to establish a foundation to support organizations that work both with preventive and reactive measures to help victims of violence and sexual abuse.
In the fight against rape and sexual violence, a father and daughter developed the world's most versatile and effective personal safety app and incorporated the NeverWalkAlone foundation.
